Literacy Instruction for Texas welcomes Tahra Taylor, MBA, SPHR as its Interim Executive Director.  Tahra replaces Sonyia Hartwell who resigned from LIFT to take a position with another area non profit. 

Tahra has served on the LIFT Board of Directors for the past two years.  Most recently, Tahra was a Human Resources Business Partern at The Dallas Morning News.   A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Tahra received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Xavier University and earned her MBA with concentrations in Marketing and Finance from Tulane University.  She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Prior to joining The Dallas Morning News, Tahra was associated with Texaco, Inc. and Entergy Services, Inc. in a human resources capacity.  She also worked as a Business Advisor while in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and successfully completed the Dallas Blueprint for Leadership Program in 2006.  She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Texas Diversity Council.
