The objective of LIFT's Adult Basic Literacy program is to build financial independence and increased self-reliance for low literate adults.This program offers a proven strategy to prepare adults for the workforce so that they may have a better opportunity to contribute to the health, well-being and economic strength of citizens and employers here in North Texas. All classes are taught at LIFT, 2121 Main St. in downtown Dallas. Please call 214-824-2000 for session dates and times.
Phonics instruction curriculum developed especially for persons with learning differences and disabilities. Reading comprehension, basic writing and life skills applications, are included. Classes meet for 2 hours, twice a week, Monday through Thursday. Offered at three progressive skill levels, TSR classes continue for 20 months.

Basic literacy instruction with verbal practice on reading, pronunciation, word recognition, phonics and basic writing skills.
Classes meet for 12 weeks, two times a week for 2 hours each session, Monday through Thursday.
When adult learners successfully complete LIFT's main curriculum they may continue with Challenger Series books which concentrate on reading comprehension and improving reading, writing and spelling skills.
Classes meet once a week for 2 hours, Monday through Thursday. The Voyager Series lasts 12 weeks at each level, with a total of 8 comprehension levels.
